How this came about: I built Lighthouse because I needed it myself. I was preparing a patent application and facing the reality that prior art searches take 20–40 hours of IP lawyer time at $400–$600 per hour. That's $8,000–$24,000 before you even know if your idea has legs.

So I built a tool that does the initial scan in minutes instead of weeks. It saved me time and money. And because it saved me time, I'm sharing the same code at a small cost to help keep this site running.
